Centre for Action Research and Demonstration (CARD), established in 2001, is Metta’s permanent demonstration farm for sustainable agriculture and animal husbandry where interested farmers and development workers can visit and observe all activities. The centre is located at Alam village, 15 miles North of Myitkyina, capital of Kachin State, and stands on 70 acres of land.

The centre is equipped with three halls and accommodation facilities for 60 people. Metta believes that training and education is essential for meaningful participation in the development process and therefore the centre offers year-round training on a diverse range of topics, including practical agriculture, natural resource management, livestock raising, income generation and value chain development skills to farmers and development workers from all regions of Myanmar. The Centre aims to improve the knowledge and skills of farmers and the quality of their lives, thereby reinforcing their own development capacities.
